Since 1959, Izumi lived in New York. In 1963, he moved to Paris, returning to Japan 5 years later in 1968. Izumi’s style gradually developed from fantastic scene towards more abstract and geometrical compositions, culminated in his interest into minerals and other inorganic materials.
